Erickson Beamon have been a driving force within the fashion industry for over 20 years, the brand being a partnership between Vicki Beamon and Karen Erickson.
Hometown friends from Detroit, Vicki and Karen shared a passion for music, the arts and of course fashion. In the early 80's Karen opened up a shop in a smart location; Birmingham of Michigan, which quickly took off and became a tremendous success.
It wasn't long before the two starry eyed girl’s left their Midwest lives for the bright lights of New York and in 1982 Vicki and Karen settled in the heart of Manhattan. A boutique was swiftly opened by Karen on the prestigious Upper East Side, 68th and Madison. The two friends were to become known in the New York scene, dressing the style icons of the day.
The unexpected twist came when Vicki and Karen were styling a runway show. Frustrated at not being able to find jewellery with the right look to accessorise the collection the pair began stringing crystals and beads on suede and thus the legacy of Erickson Beamon was born.
Vicki and Karen were instantly attributed with designing the hippest jewellery around. Their explosion onto the fashion scene was hastily picked up on and soon the retailers and press came knocking; it seemed the young company was destined for success.
In 1985 Erickson Beamon's domestic achievement was transported over the Atlantic. Vicki Beamon moved to London to spearhead the European wholesale market. With demand constantly growing in 1995 the first boutique opened in Belgravia, London. Erickson Beamon have collaborated with some of the biggest names in fashion over the years and have designed jewellery for the catwalks of every major designer before these famous couture houses had their own jewellery lines.
