  7. Grant / Grant Claims

There are few grants around presently thanks to the current economic climate with most funding aimed at encouraging employers to recruit apprentices or the long term unemployed.

There is also funding available through the LEPs (Local Enterprise Partnerships) for large scale capital projects that create jobs. Many of the banks also have access to the RGF (Regional Growth Fund) to cover shortfalls in capital projects.

The government is also channelling large amounts of cash into Enterprise Zones (there are several in Hull and East Yorkshire) which offer favourable tax rates, business rates and planning regulations.

Locally, the Acorn Fund (administered by Hull City Council) and Sirius (a business development fund originally created by BP) offer loans but currently have no grants available.

There are also a wide variety of pots of funding available to not for profit organisations and of course there is the National Lottery.
360 can help you identify potential grants and assist with the application process.

Once a grant has been approved the provider will often insist on an accountant’s report confirming expenditure has been made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the grant and some projects require an audit. We can of course assist with this and the other administrative procedures.
